Signal And Image Science Community Comes Together for Annual Workshop

WiDS Livermore

Held for the 7th year on March 13 in a hybrid format, Women in Data Science (WiDS) Livermore provides a space for women to share their career paths and experiences, hear advice on navigating a male-dominated field, learn keys to achieving work-life balance, discuss the importance of mentorship and demonstrate to women in the data science field that they’re not alone. WiDS Livermore will feature speakers, career panels and breakout sessions where women could network and discuss mentoring and career advancement.

The New UC Livermore Collaboration Center Is Built for Innovation

The newest addition to UCOP is the University of California Livermore Collaboration Center (UCLCC) — a three-building complex on the east side of Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL), which was the result of an extensive renovation that took place from September 2021 through May 2022.

The UCLCC serves as a hub to expand collaborations and partnerships between UC campuses and three national labs — LLNL, Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL) and Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL). The complex operates under UC National Labs (UCNL)  and was the dream of LLNL Director Kim Budil and Interim Vice President of UCNL June Yu.

Winter 2024 Extension Summary – UCANR

On November 9, 2023, we hosted the On the Road program in Livermore at the UC Livermore Collaboration Center (UCLCC). Speakers were:  Kamyar Aram (Regional needs assessment for winegrape production), Megan Bartlett (Irrigation Management for Late-Season Dehydration), David Block (Understanding and controlling extraction in red wine fermentations), Akif Eskalen (How to manage powdery mildew, Botrytis bunch rot, and trunk diseases of grapevine using synthetic, biological and organic fungicides), and Anita Oberholster (Grapevine Red Blotch Virus and Disease: latest update). The presentations were good, there were a lot of questions from attendees, and the atmosphere was extremely interactive. Thank you to our hosts at the UCLCC.

On the Road in Alameda and Contra Costa Counties
