University of California Initiative for Fusion Energy

September 25, 2024 by Garren Weiss

December 10-11, 2024: San Diego Supercomputer Center, UC San Diego

The University of California Initiative for Fusion Energy workshop aims to facilitate opportunities for new partnerships, collaborations, and discussions among three national laboratories scientists and UC faculty, research scientists, postdoctoral scholars, and graduate students on cutting edge science and technology of fusion energy. The conference organizers represent fusion energy expertise from three national laboratories (Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, Los Alamos National Laboratory and Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory) and at least five UC campuses (UC San Diego, UC Berkeley, UC Irvine, UC Los Angeles, and UC Santa Cruz). The workshop will address important research questions and engineering and design challenges necessary for fusion energy to transition from the laboratory to a commercially viable power plant.

To address and solve these challenges, register here to join the workshop, either in-person or virtually.
