The U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Office of Critical & Emerging Technologies (CET) released a Request for Information (RFI)

to seek public input on DOE’s Frontiers in AI for Science, Security, and Technology (FASST) initiative. The FASST initiative intends to build the world’s most powerful integrated scientific AI models for scientific discovery, applied energy deployment, and national security applications. The RFI seeks public input to inform how DOE can leverage its existing assets at its 17 national labs and partner with external organizations to support the FASST initiative. 

The High Energy Density Science Center Postdoctoral Fellowship at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory is soliciting applications. High Energy Density Science is the study of matter and energy under extreme conditions, and we are looking for candidates with expertise ranging from atomic, plasma, nuclear, planetary, stellar, high pressure, and condensed matter physics to high performance computing, diagnostics, and instrumentation. Please help us spread the word by encouraging talented students and collaborators to apply to this position. Applications need to include a CV, research proposal, summary slide, transcripts, and three references.

This Request for Proposals includes opportunities for both Planning/Pilot Awards and Program Awards.   Applicant Information: The MRPI opportunity is open to UC faculty and researchers in any field of research and scholarship. Proposals require collaboration among at least three UC campuses to pursue pioneering research in thematic, multidisciplinary, or inter-disciplinary areas that enhance the UC research enterprise, strengthen UC’s position as a leading public research university, and benefit California and its people. We anticipate approximately $16 million in total funding available across all awards. The Office of Science (SC) in the Department of Energy (DOE) invites interested parties to provide input on a proposed fusion energy public-private consortium framework (PPCF). The proposed PPCF would aim to amplify Federal funding, by catalyzing and bringing together State/local government, private, philanthropic funding, and partnerships to accelerate fusion energy research, development, demonstration, and deployment (RDD&D).
