General Information

Welcome

  • Thank you for your interest in the University of California Livermore Collaboration Center (UCLCC)! UCLCC is a set of buildings owned and operated by UC and located along the eastern boundary of the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) site. As a no cost venue dedicated to fostering long-term partnerships among UC-affiliated national laboratories and UC campuses, we have onsite staff available to assist so don’t hesitate to reach out. The information below will help you take full advantage of the facilities and resources UCLCC has to offer. We look forward to hearing from you. Venue Description

  • The venue offers three modern buildings with varying room types and configurations designed specifically for collaborative programming. Ample adjacent parking available. The two courtyards allow for social activities. We have ample parking next to the building with bicycle and handicap parking in the front. No badging is required as we are managed and operated by the University of California National Laboratories.
    • The flexible spaces provide a unique opportunity to schedule either long (months) or short (hr-day-week) events.
    • Zoom Rooms enable remote participants to easily join. The technology expertly combines video and audio to create a seamless experience for all participants. Please note that at present, Zoom is the only available technology for remote conferencing.
    • The UCLCC Business Center includes two copiers/printers.
  • Expert staff is available to help you:
    • Explore ways to expand and deepen your UC system-wide connections.
    • Design your event.
    • Optimize your use of the space.
    • Troubleshoot problems while your event is in progress.
    • Answer any additional questions you might have about use of UCLCC.

The Process

  1. Complete the UCLCC Request Form.
  2. Both the event host and administrative staff will receive an email stating that your request has been approved, with additional information about use of the venue.
  3. Make any necessary arrangements for lodging and meals. (Catering and hotel suggestions below.)
  4. Schedule and complete an in-person logistics walkthrough well in advance to help ensure success.
  5. Following your event, please complete the Checkout List and a Post-Event Survey so we can continue to improve.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is there any cost to use UCLCC?

  • There is no cost to use the venue, though we do ask that when appropriate you include our logo on agendas, handouts, etc.

How does remote or hybrid participation in an event work?

  • Zoom Rooms enable remote participants to easily join. The technology expertly combines video and audio to create a seamless experience for all participants.

Are there security options with Zoom?

  • Yes, there are multiple options available. Contact uclcc@ucop.edu or call us at 510-987-0802 for more information.

Is cross-campus, cross-lab collaboration required?

  • Cross collaboration among UC campuses and UC-affiliated labs is strongly encouraged. If you don’t have participants beyond your home institution, please send us an email. Our staff may be able to connect you with potential collaborators at UC campuses and or UC-affiliated national laboratories.

Are there policies we should be aware of about using this space?

  • All meeting organizers using this facility shall be solely responsible for ensuring compliance with all relevant and applicable laws, regulations, rules, orders, and any other mandatory requirements imposed by governmental entities and their institution apart from the University of California. Additionally, events hosted at UCLCC are for unclassified discussions only. Adhering to restrictions related to sensitive information and/or foreign nationals is the sole responsibility of the host. Hosts are responsible for choosing appropriate Zoom Room security options.
  • The following articles are prohibited from any area on UCLCC property:
    • Explosives
    • Dangerous weapons (exception: local, state and federal law enforcement)
    • Instruments or material likely to produce substantial injury to persons or damage to persons or property
    • Mace/pepper spray
    • Controlled substances (e.g., illegal drugs and associated paraphernalia, but not prescription medicine)
    • Other items prohibited by law

Is photography allowed at UCLCC?

  • Photography with a personal or company device is permitted inside the buildings and courtyard. Exterior photography must be directed away from the LLNL site. Please check with your host and UCLCC on permissibility if you have questions.
